The Omnibus Society of America was organized in 1961. Since it's inception, OSA has grown to become Chicago's most active transportation enthusiast organization. OSA has operated over 130 inspection trips of various transit properties throughout the Midwest area.

These trips have ranged from such large systems as Chicago and Milwaukee, to smaller systems of Ames, Iowa and Champaign, Illinois. Our trips have taken us as far west as Omaha, Nebraska, as far north as Marquette, Michigan, as far south as Harrisburg, Illinois, and as far east as Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Equipment on these trips has ranged from long distance highway coaches and touring buses, to trackless trolleys and local transit-type vehicles.
